What is Underwater Hockey?
Underwater hockey is competitive team swimming pool sport
during which players score goals by using a short hand-held
hockey stick (pusher) to propel a puck across the bottom
of a swimming pool into the opposing team's goal.
Players are not allowed to use breathing devices.
Underwater hockey has been recognized as a sport by the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques
(CMAS) its first world championship
event was held in Canada in 1980. The sport's competitions
are governed by the CMAS Underwater Water Hockey Commission.
