What is Modern Pentathlon?
The sport of modern penthalon is a five-event athletics competition
that has traditionally and historically included
fencing, swimming, equestrian, shooting and running.
Is Modern Pentathlon an Olym[ic Sport?
Yes, modern penthatlon has been included in the Olympics since 1912
but the disciplines changed significantly in 2024 and 2028.
In 2024 the event included fencing, swimming, equestrian show jumping
and a laser run event that combined running and shooting.
In 2028 all horseback riding was eliminated
and the entire modern pentathlon event was condensed
into a single 90 minute viewer-friendly event that included
fencing, swimming, laser run (running and shooting) and
a new obstacle course racing event.
