and typically pointed at both ends. A canoe is propelled using paddles
by one or more seated or kneeling paddlers facing in the direction of travel.

Yes, the whitewater sport of canoe slalom and
and the flatwater sport ofcanoe sprint are both
contested at the Olympic Games. Canoeing was a
demonstration sport at the 1924 Olympics
and it became an officially contested sport
at the 1936 Olympics.
